Sharon qualified from the Podiatric School of Medicine, New College Durham in 1998. Since qualifying Sharon has worked for the NHS specialising in diabetes, the high risk foot, nail surgery, tissue viability and mental health.
In 2014 Sharon joined the lecturing team at New College Durham to lecture in the field of podiatry.
